We already have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 3 parakeets, so I guess it's appropriate that now we're adding fish....hmmm...should we get 3 fish? Caleb enjoys looking at the fish at Petsmart or Walmart so we thought we'd dig out the old aquarium from the garage, clean it, and start it up yet again. Grandpa is cleaning all the parts, trying to remember how it all fits toge
ther. I found a heater, bought several years ago but never opened (how did I even remember where it was now???) and so here we are, getting everything ready so we can take Caleb shopping for some fish.
Anyone wondering about our current animal menagerie? My favorite pet is my precious Yorkie, Bella Marie. We got her in Dec 2001 at a garage sale in San Jose for $250...quite a deal. She is the sweetest, most loyal dog I have ever had. Then there's Bruno, a purebred Yorkie I bought over the internet from a family in Nebraska. He flew out to California to join our family when he was 12 weeks old. Augie Doggie is a Llasa Apso/Terrier mix that we got from a doggie orphanage. On to the cats: my girlfriend's cat had kittens and I took 2 of the females---Disco Queen (she has white paws like go-go boots) and Sailor Girl. Then they had kittens and I kept a beautiful white one with a calico tail--Charlotte. The parakeets stay outside and I just love to hear them singing in the morning.

Sometimes I wish I didn't have all these animals---like when we want to travel somewhere. It's difficult to find someone to watch all of them and I also feel guilty leaving them...especially Bella because she really suffers when I'm gone, curling up in my closet just waiting for my return. But the joys of having pets is worth it....kind of like with kids...the joys are worth the pain!
