Many years ago, a good friend of ours, Sharon Brown, made us an Advent Calendar. My kids immediately fell in love with it and hanging it each year becam
e a special tradition. Last year, for their birthdays, I gave both David and Allison their own Advent Calendar (I'm still working on one for Stacy). It was a lot of work, not only because of all the tiny detailed pieces, but also because I don't have a pattern for it and so had to trace and draw and make my own pattern. Each ornament is attached to the tree with velcro, which unfortunately, I decided to attach with glue.....that didn't work and the velcro was coming off and the ornaments falling down.....so I told the kids to bring the calendars over and I'd sew the velcro so it would be attached permanently. I wanted them to be able to put the calendar up today since it's December 1st. Mission accomplished.
Caleb is still a little young, but I hope
he enjoys using this calendar every year just like his dad did. I'm sure he will.
